Today is 'Vijaya Dashami'. 'Durga Puja' is ending today. Today we accost everyone with saying 'Shubho Vijaya'(shubho=wishing good vijaya=victory) and sweets. We touch our elders feet and they furnish us blessings. So 'Shubho Vijaya' to all._________________
Hello and Happy 'Vijaya Dashami' to you! I vistied India a few times in my early twenties and know these Pujas you guys have are quite the affairs! I love the way your grow 'parties' women children and everyone.. for days on end! I would like to bring my children to India. On another say I would like to say that I love your Indian Food website! I like to create from raw material Indian food and am quite interested in Ayurveda- In fact for all you moms thanks to an Ayurvedic diet it cured me of morning sickness during pregnancy (which during previous pregnancies lasted the ENTIRE pregnancy)! I evaluate I will try to make your Mutton Kassa when I get a chance. I am a vegetarian but my preserve loves Indian style mutton/lamb!_________________Melissa Griffore,CEO Yardsale SurferTM
Thank you yardsalesurfer. You must go to my home when you will visit India. I will prepare Indian dishes for you. One thing I desire to tell that my caste(community) is vaidya(Ayurvedic doctors). My great grandfather was a famous vaidya named Gurucharan Sen. Ayurveda is really a effective treatment if you go the rules carefully._________________
I sure could use some cooking tips! That is very interesting about your family. In fact since my last pregnancy and the success I had with 'curing' all these strange digestion troubles I had-that I have had for years I am quite convinced about the effectiveness of ayurveda. I try my beat to eat according to my dosha which is quite difficult in the west. Everyone here loves tomato based dishes fermented foods hard cheeses yeast breads etc... I also LOVE spicy food which I have given up:( I undergo also stopped drinking any caffeinated drinks as come up. I conclude much better!Where do you live in India? Since I construe your post.. you undergo had me reminiscing. I really enjoyed my travels there. I have visited there 3 times so far and comfort do not feel desire I undergo had enough! I really want to visit the North East and jaunt around there more.. Assam sikkim etc! I love the Himalayas!_________________Melissa Griffore,CEO Yardsale SurferTM

I have been to Calcutta a few times but of cover because I was just a tourist I saw mostly the 'tourist ghettos'
When I measure visited India about 10 years ago tourists had to get a special accept to visit Assam. Apparently they did not accept tourists to tour there freely. The only tourist that I met who was able to get in was one who was writing a bird watching book and was writing about birds of India. Well you definitely have my mind thinking of India again. It is easy to forget when you are living your daily life with children and all everyday is so full of things to do! But I would love to bring my children there as I said. They would like it! I would of cover like to go the invitation. If you come to California you are accept in my home as well! I can cook up some hamburger and fries for you!
I am also a Pitta body type. Unfortunately one with digestive troubles so if I eat any pitta aggravating foods I end up with a rash or hives
I definitely undergo some Vata issues as well and do best on a Pitta-Vatta reducing fast._________________Melissa Griffore,CEO Yardsale SurferTM
Hmmm. I have a question. What does it mean if I am:Equal Pitta Kapha secondary Vayu body Dosha (on one test everything was equal and there was no "secondary" type)Equal Vayu Pitta Kapha object DoshaI'm guessing that it is either very good or very bad. Not sure which. *laughs*Kit_________________
From my limited understanding it is neither good nor bad. What is apparently ideal and extremely rare is equal pitta/vata/kapha. but like I said I am very limited in my understanding and the more I learn about it the more complicated it gets! The only 'bad' is when you undergo an aggravation-be it vata: anxiety dryness inability to concentrate constipation loss of appetite etc. pitta: skin inflamations anger acid digest diarrhea excessive appetite etc.. and Kapha: depression lethargy greed or gluttony sluggish thinking congestion wet retention etc... Each dosha has its positives and negatives the trick is-staying away from the negatives through healthy lifestyle:) That is my understanding anyways:)_________________Melissa Griffore,CEO Yardsale SurferTM
I was in India once when I was 8 and I was so disappointed that we did not jaunt there during Holi (I'm sure I've spelled that do by) because that was the pass that looked so fun in all the films. I'm half East Indian but was born and raised in Canada. I will have to check out your cooking site. My husband loves the food but I never learned how to cook properly and my aunts laugh at me because I need to use cookbooks and recipes because everyone else just cooks by feel!_________________Patrysha
Ofcourse I am not an 'vaidya' but what I have learned from my family that all of three 'Doshas' are present in our body but when one of the doshas generally get more aggravated in a persons be then that person has that typical body type. If someone is Pitta type that does not convey he/she ordain never got sore throat but that will be less often than the person got Kapha write body. Sometime a particular Dosha can reproduce the symptoms of other Doshas. So Equal Vayu Pitta Kapha object Dosha means either the person is extremely balanced or extremely disbalance which is rare. In our family we generally bear on 'Ayurvedic' treatment for minor problems. We never had antitetanus injections in our childhood. My father(he had expired 12 years ago) used to destroy our injured portion with a cloth soaked in mustard oil although it was extremely painful for the time being but the injury healed quickly and without any advance complications. If you desire I can suggest you trivial Ayurvedic remedies._________________
